The purpose of the course is the study and analysis of cultural institutions and organizations. In particular, it examines: 1) their role in the formation of cultural identity and social cohesion, 2) their evolution and management in a historical perspective, and 3) their contribution to economic and social development.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• describe cultural institutions and organizations
• report on key characteristics of cultural industries
• apply cultural theories
• analyze the role of cultural institutions and organizations at the level of society
• assess the contribution of institutions and organizations at the level of the economy
