INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROCESS OF INTERNSHIP/PLACEMENT AT THE DEPT. OF PERFORMING AND DIGITAL ARTS (DPDA)

The Internship (Placement) constitutes one of the most vital links between students' academic training and the professional sphere outside the University. Internships are conducted in collaboration with artistic, cultural, and educational organizations across the public and private sectors, as well as Local Government authorities. By their final year of study, students have attained the requisite scientific and artistic maturity to derive maximum benefit from their host organizations. The program is governed by the official DPDA Internship Regulations. At the DPDA, the Internship is elective (optional), takes place during the 7th or 8th semester of study, and is credited with either 18 ECTS (full-time) or 12 ECTS (part-time). More specifically

 

TYPES OF PLACEMENT/INTERNSHIP

Internships may be remunerated via NSRF (ΕΣΠΑ) funding—contingent upon the announcement of a relevant program—or conducted on an unpaid basis. Please refer to the internship categories below:

🔵 TYPE Α’: FULL TIME

DURATION: 3 months

SEMESTER: 7 or 8

ECTS: 18

🔴 TYPE B’: PART TIME

DURATION: 3 months

SEMESTER: 7 or 8

🟡  INTERNSHIP/PLACEMENT THROUGH ERASMUS+ (ABROAD)

Students are also offered the opportunity to undertake an optional Erasmus+ Internship (Traineeship) at host organizations abroad (for further details, please refer to the ERASMUS INTERNSHIPS section). The Erasmus+ program provides funding for students to complete an internship at an international host entity, with a mobility duration ranging from 2 to 12 months. Participants are entitled to a monthly grant, the amount of which is determined by the destination country. Internships can be carried out in European Union member states, as well as in specific non-EU countries, based on the Department's programmatic agreements. The competent authority for the Erasmus+ program is the University’s Department of Public and International Relations. Internships completed through the Erasmus+ Program are credited with ECTS in accordance with the credits awarded for domestic internships. Detailed information follows:

  • Full-Time Internship (3 months): Credited with 18 ECTS.

  • Extended Duration (> 3 months): Credited with a maximum of 18 ECTS.

  • Part-Time Internship (3 months): Credited with 12 ECTS.

  • Short Duration (< 3 months): Not recognized for credit and does not receive ECTS
