The course introduces basic theories and modern approaches to the pedagogy of movement, as it has been shaped through the pedagogy of dance. Theoretically and experientially, models of dance pedagogy are examined and the way in which they respond and contribute to the developmental stages of man and to different stages of education, drawing examples from educational systems, such as in Great Britain and the USA, where dance has been systematized in education. The course also studies social/artistic currents such as "community dance" and the evolution of applied dance practices. Through the analysis of examples of works/programs/artists/artistic groups, and experimentation with the practices they apply, the student elaborates and analyzes pedagogical approaches as applied to different social groups.
