Panagiotis Matsoukas is a visual artist and academic, serving as a Special Teaching Staff at the Dept. of Performing and Digital Arts, University of the Peloponnese, teaching visual arts and teacher training of digital arts, since November 2021. He is a graduate of the Fine Arts Department of the Athens School of Fine Arts (BA – integrated master). He holds a master’s degree in plastic arts and art sciences (University of Ioannina) and a vocational degree in graphic arts. His Ph.D. research focus was on rhizomatic learning, postmodernism, art education with an emphasis in web technologies. He has worked as a teacher of arts, in secondary general public education as well as in the Athens Art High School. Also, he has taught visual arts in tertiary education and adult education. He has conducted research for the Research Committee of the University of Ioannina and co-authored a “Guide of Good Practices on New Technologies for the Artistic Creation”. He has served as an Education Counsellor of arts for the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP) of the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs and as the coordinator of art curriculum authoring teams for primary and secondary Greek education. He has served in the Central Service of the Ministry of Education with administrative tasks in educational matters, and he is a key member of the Scientific Committee for Art Education of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. He was a member for two European Programs (KA3), related to Greek Higher Education, and a governmental member of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). He is a co-author of the title “Total Quality Management and Education”, and has a presence at conferences/scientific meetings (with announcements). He has held a solo art exhibition and has participated in several group art exhibitions, while he is a fellow of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts.
