Elina Roinioti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Performing and Digital Arts at the University of Peloponnese in Greece. Her research fields include interactive storytelling and narrative design in games and digital arts and the study of video game production (cultural tropes, cultural policies, and video games). She has a Ph.D. at the Department of Communication, Media, and Culture of Panteion University. From 2020-2022, she carried out her postdoctoral research on the study of Greek video game developers, funded by the National Scholarship Foundation. She has been a lecturer in undergraduate and postgraduate programs and worked on several national and international research programs on social inclusion, immigration, political participation, gamification, and game design applications for Panteion University, the Centre of National Social Research, the University of Oslo, University of Peloponnese, and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has participated in game design and development projects for national and international game festivals like the Playpublik Krakow and cultural institutions like the Onassis Stegi. Since 2015 she has worked as a scientific collaborator and consultant in digital games for the private and public sectors. Elina is editor-in-chief for the edited book “Digital Games: Philosophical, Social and Cultural Investigations” (Oasis) and co-author of the book “Digital Games and Learning” (Kallipos, 2023)
