Ημερομηνία Δημοσίευσης:
This year's Global Game Jam Athens, which took place from January 30 to February 1, 2026, at the 📍 "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Center of the Foundation of the Hellenic World, was successfully completed. The University of the Peloponnese participated dynamically in the event with a delegation of 9 students from 2 related departments, thus promoting the interdisciplinarity and inter-artistry that characterize the digital arts and, in particular, the field of video games:
-
🔵 Department of Performing and Digital Arts (Nafplio)
-
🔴 Department of Informatics and Telecommunications (Tripoli) – Human-Computer Interaction & Virtual Reality Lab (HCI-VR Lab)
Global Game Jam is a global game design event (video games, table, hybrid, etc.), which takes place simultaneously in hundreds of locations around the world. As part of the event, improvised and interdisciplinary teams of creators meet in person and, starting from a common thematic axis announced at the start of the Jam, they are invited to design and implement a complete game prototype within a period of 48 hours. This year's theme was "MASK" and the participants had the opportunity to manage it freely. The partnership of the 2 departments yielded two complete games that stood out for their perfection and aesthetics:
👾 1. UNMASKED A 2.5D stealth game with platformer elements. A magical mask infiltrates a heavily guarded warehouse in search of her lost body. During the mission, she occupies different bodies to achieve her purpose. 🔗 You can play here
👾 2. THE LAST CARNIVAL A atmospheric Visual Novel. The story follows Sheryl, a young girl who has once again returned to the city. A mysterious figure, a card game and a fate waiting to be revealed make up a dark narrative. 🔗 You can play here:
